About Us

The Beare Family
The farming business at Worth Hall Farm and Tulleys Farm was established by Bernard Beare in 1937. Bernard developed a successful dairy herd and a market garden business producing salad and vegetable crops for the London Markets. Denis & Marion Beare the next generation took over running the farms in 1970 and opened Tulleys Farm to the public for Pick Your Own in 1971. Their son Stuart joined the growing family business in 1991, the farm shop was added in 1992 and the tearooms in 1996.

Production Heritage
Tulleys Farm's heritage is in fruit and vegetable production, originally for the London Markets and more recently through Pick Your Own for direct farm sales.

Strawberries are synonymous with Tulleys and we've been growing Britain's favourite berry now for 37 years, along with raspberries they form the back bone of the summer fruit season.

The beautiful farm shop was converted in 1992 from a disused milking parlour and quickly established itself as a high quality provider of local and regional foods.

Entertainment Beginnings
The first seasonal event was a one day Pumpkin Festival in 1995, providing refreshments for this prompted the opening of our Tearooms in 1996. The entertainment business developed quickly with the Creepy Cottage Haunted House opening its doors for the first time in 1997.

Maize Maze History
The team at Tulleys Farm have been building Giant Maize Mazes since 1998, the first being in the form of "Freddie the Dragon". From these humble beginnings the Maze Fun Park has developed offering families and adults hours of fun each summer.

The idea of Maize Mazes originated in the US, with the first maze being built in Pennsylvania in 1993. The Maze here at Tulleys has proved hugely popular and has helped turned Tulleys into a major Summer destination with local day trippers and tourists travelling from afar.

Haunting US Style
Tulleys has developed strong connections with the US farm attraction's industry and many of the farm's innovative ideas such as the The infamous Spooktacular Halloween Festival in October are adaptations of American ideas.

Commitment
The Beare family is committed to providing great experiences and creating lasting memories for all our visitors. If you're just popping into the farm shop, picking strawberries, getting lost in the maze or enjoying the Halloween Festival we hope you have a great time.

The Future
Children are our future.......And we must look after them well.
